Confusion about status of visa

Hello everyone, I'm sorry to bother everyone again. Actually I have some confusion related to the status of my visa. I applied online on 26th. of May and got a letter from CIC on 27th. Requesting me to complete my medical exam. The medical exam was completed and updated to CIC on 7th. June. I received a letter from CIC on 25th. June asking me to submit my original passport. The letter contains details on having at least one blank page in my passport and that my passport should be valid till the expiry of the Visa. However, it has not been stated in my profile on CIC that my visa has been approved, but from the content of the letter and discussion with a few seniors here, I'm led to believe that my visa has most probably been approved. I have submitted the passport to VFS on June 25th and still awaiting for a confirmation from CIC and/or VFS.
Now my confusion is that on myCIC, it says that my application status is still open. I read on myCIC that once they reach a decision, the status changes to closed. That's why I'm confused. Is there any cause for concern. Hopefully, CIC wnt ask for my passport if my visa has been refused.
I did include a SOP with my application explaining future research prospects and my long term goals. I also mentioned explicitly that a higher degree from Canada would help me to contribute significantly to my present organisation in India.
I would request you all to kindly clarify my doubts. And more importantly, what could the visa status be? Thanks.

Relax. It's mostly approval of visa. The status of your MyCiC will change after the visa is stamped on your passport. You will surely see final decision saying approved and status as closed.

I have also a query, I hope you may help.

I have got admission in Seneca College, Toronto & also paid my first semester fees. I have applied for Visa through Online. And now I have got Medical request in 6 Days to my Study Permit Application submission.
So, what are chances for Visa Refusal at This stage?

I think CIC will review your application in totality. You need to get the medical done at the earliest to enable smooth processing of your visa. Whether it would be approved or rejected, cnt be said at this moment. Since they have requested you to complete the medical, there are chances that they have already considered your profile and need your medical reports for further accessment. It may be indicative of an approval from their end, but I cnt be sure that this is so. I wish you good luck with your future.

Actually I'm all the more worried coz I do have a job offer from an enormous MNC at Mumbai which I would need to decline in case I'm going to Canada this August. Hopefully that justifies the reason for my concern. Thanks
