Hi there,

Please help me answer my concern about my income to sponsor my spouse

Do I need to meet minimum necessary income? or this requirement just applies for parents and grandparents sponsorship

Do I need any documents to improve my income?

I'm really new in this situation and so confused reading the guides. Just want to make sure everything is clear

Thanks,

Hi

There is no minimum income requirement. You must show that you will be able to support yourselves in Canada without welfare.

- Emplyement letters
- Paystubs.
- T4 for the last 2 years is also usually good to show that you have continuous income since a couple of years.

The checklist (Form IMM5491) will be your best friend.
Under the "Supporting Documents" section, Item 17 states you need to provide an original "Option C Printout" for the most recent taxation year.
Item 18 says if you are employed you need to provide an original of an employment letter from your current employer stating your period of employment, salary, and regular hours per week.

hi

yOu also need your YTD(year to date income number from your employer) thats what i was told to attest..
