Hi all would like some help here. Im working right now in Israel for a year now and would like to ask if i can process the app in tel aviv visa office? Im from the Philippines working in Israel. Now here is my questions:

1. Im confuse which instruction guide will i use(country specific instructions)? Is it from the Philippines or Israel?
2. Im going back to the philippines to marry my girlfriend and planning to go back here in iIsrael and process the app here. Is it ok to do the upfront medical in the Philippines? Will it affect our applications?

Thanks to all of you.

1. u should use the country specific info of the country you would be in during the processing period of the application. I suppose that would be Israel.

2. since your Girlfriend is the Principal Applicant, then she should do the medicals in whichever country from which she is applying. After you get married and she plans to remain in the Phils, then medicals should be done in the Phils and application should be sent from there.

1. I disagree - you should use the instructions for your country of citizenship.

2. It doesn't matter where you get your medical done.

Your girlfriend is already a Canadian citizen or PR? If not, then she is not the sponsor. If you are filing a different type of immigration application, other than family sponsorship, then you may want to try posting in the proper section of this board. This section is specifically for family sponsorship.

As an aside, where you get your medical done is irrelevant so long as you get it done by a CIC panel physician. File your application based on your country of citizenship and "ASK" for it to be processed in your current country of residence, Israel in this case, as long as you still have at MINIMUM 12 months of visa available to use for that country. It will be up to CIC where they process it.

1. It actually makes sense to use the instructions of country of citizenship,

But according to CiC website -

Part 3: Information guides
Sponsored relatives must follow specific instructions depending on where they live. To find their region, use the list below...

Clearly CIC assumes that all outland applicants currently reside in their country of citizenship. You'll realize this when you actually look at some of the instruction guides.

What about those who applied outland but are already in Canada? There are no instructions for Canada. Then the only reasonable choice is to use the instructions for your country of citizenship, and this should always apply.

You're saying CiC won't be smart enough to simply put " instruction of country of citizenship" rather than " where you live" ??

You may be right, but i think the phrase- Where You Live - is very easy to understand and i don't want believe a committee of immigration intellectuals will sit down to set certain policies and these will b based on assumptions that every human applying outland is definitely doing it from his country of citizenship..

FYI- those who applied outland and are already in Canada, are just playing smart.. coz thats why we have both inland and outland.

I am sure nursebago, who started this thread, must have gotten his answers, so there is no point going back and forth over this, but note this: if CiC says " WHERE YOU LIVE" then give them where you live, if they need more , they will ask u. Don't assume that WHERE You Live means Your Country of Citizenship.
