Confused with NOC ?

Hello Folks,

I have a very quick question. NOCs are based on the Job Titles or Roles / Responsibilities?

I have titles around Business Development. My current title is Manager - Business Development. Will I fall under the category of Corporate Sales manager (NOC 0601) or Business development officers and marketing researchers and consultants (NOC 4163)?

My roles and responsibilities matches the Duties of Corporate Sales Manager and not of BD officers. I am confused which NOC to apply.

Please advise.

Regards,
Amit

Hi,

I am confused too in selection of NOC.
I have around 3-4 years experience in NOC 0651 ( First 3 years as Center Manager and then after 1 year Area Manager of 3 branches for the same Weight loss Clinic) , I also had Fitness Center Manager experience for 1 and half year and my current designation is Center Manager in a Healthcare Industry(Reputed Healthcare Clinic) for about 10 months and the NOC code 0311.

Please guide me which NOC should I select.

dude, always chose the NOC which you worked more time under which means, working 3yrs in a B NOC is better than 1 yr in an O NOC. you will get more points
so go with 0651! gd luck! u ll get more points since its 3 yrs and the others are less

Hi ,

I have experience of 3.5 years in NOC 1111 and 1.5 years of experience in NOC 1112 , when filing the details relating to work experience should I add up both and mention 5 years or I should consider only 3.5 years as my work experience
Kindly advise

Thanks

I don't think you have to add anything yourself; the system will automatically calculate your correct points once you enter the dates and the noc under which you claim you have worked. So in your case enter the correct dates with correct noc and the system should calculate that for you.

There might be a problem if you are applying under noc 1112 since you have less experience under that noc. So i would suggest if you have not already done that then create your EE profile assuming you are applying under noc 1111 and then enter correct details under job details section. You will get more points for 1111 then 1112. Make sure you have letters to back you up that 3.5 yrs of exp in indeed in 1111 and not in some other noc.

add both under work experience but be aware that you should add noc 1111 as ur primary occupation! it is of course better

Thanks bj291 & Beirut Joe for your reply .

I will ofcourse apply under NOC 1111 , but what I am asking is that will my work experience be considered as 5 years for cumulatively to calculate points or i have to enter 3.5 years only as experience .

I mean since they both fall under Skill Level A , for the purpose of accumulating points under EE can I inculde both NOC experience ?

Thanks once again

it doesnt have to with the same skill level A

you will only get points on the number of years, which means 3 years is the maximum points you can get which means your 1.5 yrs experience NOC wont add you points to the EE stream, but it is gd 2 show that you have work experience in it so if you get lucky by any province to nominate you

hope you understood what i meant

Hey Beirut ,

Thanks , I am not getting more confused :(

"When you mean it is good to show that i have other 1.5years of experience "

Where should i show this ?
while filling up the EE form , i doubt there is any option there to show that i have additional work experience apart from what i have stated in the form

In the EE form - when you are filling up your job details - you will need to enter duration of that job (with dates) and the NOC that is most suitable for that job.
So in your case - what BeirutJoe is saying is - you will enter two rows on the EE form - one for noc 1111 and enter dates that add up to 3.5 yrs and second row for noc 1112 with dates adding up to 1.5 yrs. Once you enter this information on the EE form - you don't need to do anything more...the system is smart enough and it will calculate and give you points only for the 3.5 yrs of experience (even though you entered 5 yrs in total experience) assuming that's the noc for which you are applying your PR under...Does it make sense?

Kind Attn: Nikhil89

Can you share the job title under which you are applying for the NOC 1111. My wife is also working as an accountant for the last more than two years. Prior to that she worked as a lecturer in a college. I have also same doubts as you have raised in this forum regarding experience. We are also claiming points for NOC 1111. Plz help...

Thanks

It's kind of weird cuz I remember in the old CEC system they take into account all your work experience even if you have multiple NOC codes for different jobs; now it seems that they only reward you for your primary NOC code experience. Is this a new policy or it could be a calculation bug in the system?
