Hello folks

I am working with same job since May 2012 already finished 12 months of work.

According to CIC, in order to qualify for CEC application, one have full time work experience (30 hours per week) so If I go by this line I should have 1560 hours (30 hours per week X 52 weeks) of work in past 12 months.

I'd started working in May 2012, but for some unavoidable circumstances I had to travel to my home country and I stayed there for 2 months. (my employer granted my leave for the said period) and resumed my work in first week of October.

I am working minimum of 45 hours per week since I've started my job so If I go by hours of experience I've worked 1800 hours with 2 months leave.

so my question is, Can I apply now for my PR under CEC ???

Please Help

Nope. You will have to wait for another (additional) 2 months (lost in your vacation) to apply.

As far as my understanding , even if you work 60 hours a week , they will only consider that as a week not two weeks.

Overtime is not considered..only 30 hours

R u sure guyz..???? I'm so stressed ...

This is what i'm following :

"All applicants must have acquired at least 12 months of full-time (or the equivalent in part-time) skilled work experience in Canada in occupations that fall under Skill Type 0, or Skill Level A or B of the National Occupational Classification (NOC),"

Than what does that mean to part time experience???

For 12 months full time experience aren't they counting total hours per annum???

Yes, you will need to work for at-least 12 months, no matter if you work 45 hours/week or 30 hours/week...work experience should covere 12 months, 52 weeks with minimum of 30 hours/week. Over time will not suffice 2 months of vacation. For further info please see- http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/cec/apply-who.asp

" You must have at least 12 months of full-time, or an equal amount in part-time, skilled work experience. Full-time work means at least 30 hours of paid work per week."

Seniors please correct me if i am wrong. Thanks

dannymp,
No point beating around the bush. It will be a sureshot rejection. Have seen a lot of rejections in similar cases. You decide what you want to do - waste your money, time and effort OR wait patiently for another 2 months and then apply.

Thanks for your prompt reply but here is another confusion as if you count by year than I have to wait 2 more months but i just count 52 weeks and it show I am going to finish 52 weeks in July......

Now what ???

I have the same question. I went to Cuba for 1 week and then 6 months later I went to Mexico for another week. I have TONS of overtime. How's the VO gonna know I went for 2 vacations? I am not submitting all of my paystubs simply because I do not have all of them. I have maybe 60 percent of all my paystubs. Don't get me wrong I am going to wait 2 extra weeks I spent on vacation but HOW IS THE VO GONNA KNOW ANYWAYS? It is not going to be on my reference letter...

thanks and thats true .... VO is not going to know for how long and when you were on vacation ....
but still my question remains stand ..... that how many pay slips (copies) should I submit with my application? 1 from each month? or 1 from each quarter?

thanks you for your quick response

VO is going to know you went on vacation because you HAVE TO declare it in one of the forms and you have to mention the period of time you were away - unless you went back to your home country.

Pay slips are optional, but totally recommended. You don't have to submit all of them. For me, I submitted my first paystub, and my last paystub before I submitted my application, so they know I've worked over a year.

Anybody disagree?

In my case I'd visited my home country only and except that i was in England for 1 week thats it....

So if I have started working in May 2012 if I add that 1 week in England, to current time and I submit 1 pay slip from each quarter and latest one as well ...

Does this going to work???? As I'm almost paranoid thinking about it....

please share your responses

Was your trip to england for vacation? as in paid vacation? if so, you don't have to worry about it.
But worry about you being away to home for 2 months - that's quite some time, especially if it was unpaid.

so mentioning about your going away time in one of the forms and how many weeks you have worked for eligibility are totally different things.
hope I make sense.

Thanks kaytea

I forgot to mention that my leave from work for 5 weeks in total. including 1 week in England (4 weeks back home + 1 week in England).

I did get my vacation pay with each pay slip but not for the days I didn't work.....

Is it still counts?? and okay?
