i am studying in this university now. it`s not so bad, i mean if you study hard then you could learn something interesting and useful. But as they said, it`s a university that unfamous and newly founded(it used to be a community college), so may be its MBA degree can`t provide you many help to increase your employability. However, I think where your degree came from is not a critical element for you to find a job here, your working ability and working experience are usually more important( many Canadian in this university have founded a job before they graduate, and I know there was a chinese students who successful got a PR after graduated from the MBA program).
But, as the tuition of MBA program here is not cheap, so you should make your choice carefully in order to make your(or your parents`) investment become valuable. If your goal of study aboard is just want to experience Canadian life and improve your english, then you can study in this university, if you want to start your career in your home country then you`d better choice other famous Canadian universities or other countries. If you really want to stay in Canada and there are no better universities willing to give you a place, then you can choice VIU as a springboard. Then even if you failed to apply a PR, you still can go home with a master degree.
My program in VIU is PG diploma, and they said if my program`s cgpa is higher than 3.0, then i could apply their MBA program, but I don't want to do that, not because the MBA program is below average, just because I dislike management and accounting, therefore i decided to study engineering in a college at Saskatchewan after i graduate, and take my chance to get a PR.
by the way, VIU has collaborated with many education agents around the world, and it will give them a bound if they send an international student here, so you can ask your agent give you a discount if you choice study here
