Confused: Proof of relationship with Aunt/Uncle

Hi,

I recently got an ITA under the FSW express entry. My husband has an aunt living in Canada who is a citizen therefore we stated that in our express entry profile. However now that i have to upload the proof of relationship docs, i did some research on the forums here and most of them have an aunt or uncle related by blood. My husband's aunt is basically his father's brother's wife so in other words his paternal uncle's wife. Therefore its a relation through marriage and not directly by blood. I'm not sure if that comes under the definition of 'aunt/uncle' as per the CIC?

I can delete this part from my husband's profile section but then again is that going to be a problem or a basis for rejection since i already stated it in the express entry profile that me and my husband submitted. I am really confused as what to do, i searched a lot on the forums but did not find a situation similar to mine, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I hope you can score 67 points without relative points under FSW. If you can score that, then you can remove your aunt from PR application. There will be no harm.

If you remove them and still get 67, then in the LOE, just tell them that your family members can't provide the papers before the deadline and you wish to remove them from your app. That's what I did.

Hi, thanks for replying.

Did you just delete the proof of relationship part and explained it in the additional info section you can upload, or did you say yes [basically not deleting anything] to having a relative and then uploaded an LOE in the specific proof of relationship doc

Okay Thank you.

In regards to the original question, would you know the answer. Because my spouse can prove his relationship to her.

"My husband's aunt is basically his father's brother's wife so in other words his paternal uncle's wife. Therefore its a relation through marriage and not directly by blood. I'm not sure if that comes under the definition of 'aunt/uncle' as per the CIC?"

I did find some info under the FSW eligibility page on the CIC page where it said

“Yours or your spouse’s aunt/uncle (Related by blood or marriage)”

I’m not sure if this relates to marriage between my spouse’s uncle and his wife. Do you recommend proving the relationship btw my spouse and his uncles’s wife OR just uploading a LOE like you did? Also were you able to get the PR??
