Confused in few questions of application after ITA- Please help

Hi @Asivad Anac,

Does CIC puts any restriction of first entry to be made after giving PR ? If yes, On what basis ?

Like in Case of Australia, they make it mandatory to enter Australia atleast once before xxx date. That date is usually after 1 year of PCC or Medicals whichever is earlier.

Similar rules apply for Canada - COPR (Confirmation of Permanent Residence) is valid for 1 year from the date of medicals or passport expiry date, whichever is earlier.

So it means PCC date doesn't play any role in it, right ?

But CIC takes lot of time to issue PR, more than 6 months I think. After that only 5-6 months will be there in any hand to make the entry.

The role of PCC ends with your PR decision. It does take time for the PR decision and we can expect some confusion about this in early 2016 if some applicants who did their Medicals in early 2015 get their PR decision by that time.

I'm guessing CIC would allow some extension on a case-to-case basis then.

Please tell us about immediate family members that have not been identified in the application.
This includes any parent, any spouse or common-law partner, any child including adult children, and any brothers or sisters. If the relative is deceased, provide the date of death.
• Check the list at the bottom of the form first to see information you have already saved.
• When you click "Save and Add", each relative's details will be saved to the list.
• The fields will go blank to let you add details about another relative.
• Use the modify or delete button if you want to change details that you have already saved to the list.


Should we mention the fmaily members although they are not in the application? for example parents and brother?
I have been asked for family member prrof of relationship under CEC category. Is this normal?

Yes. This has nothing to do with what you've claimed in your application.

So What kind of documents should we upload to prove the relationship? would birth certificate be fine? It doesnt mention my brother? it only indicates my parents. Im really confused!!

I don't think you are required to upload any documentation in this section - just basic details for parents, siblings etc.

Hi there,

When I was filling up the application form, I realized that few changes which I had made (carefully) while submitting my EE profile were not saved. I am not able to make it out, how..

1. Instead of 40hour/week for work, it was saved as it is, as I had typed earlier i.e. 48hrs/week.
2. And for my job I need LMIA, but option which got saved was, WP needed LMIA not required.

I have received my ITA.
Now while filling up the application, I have scrupulously checked and saved the correct details for the above.
Its not affecting my score.

But should I just attach a letter giving the explanation for the above two??

Strictly optional given that those changes happened before ITA and, more importantly, made no material difference to your application in terms of change of CRS.

It depends on how much POF you need to show. Mix and match with other accounts based on your requirement.

The best bet lies with those 2 Govt bank accounts. Since both of those are new accounts, there could be questions on the sources of those funds so keep documentation ready and attach that along with POF. Ask your banks to write 6 month average balance - just 1 number which can be calculated however your bank wants to do it (daily, weekly, fortnightly, monthly, quarterly, half yearly doesn't matter).

Banks calculates average balance differently for different purposes. What CIC really wants to figure out is whether these funds are encumbered or not. One way of identifying that is by cross checking average balance with current balance. If the difference is significantly large, that indicates one or many large credit transactions in the recent past which might indicate borrowed funds. It is your responsibility to send additional supporting documents to prove that you haven't borrowed the funds.

1 - where can i get the document checklist? i havent started clicking on anything yet, i have updated majority of the questions, once i complete all of those is that when i'll get the checklist?

2 - when i read the apply-how link it says i need to upload stuff already but i dont see where to upload my documents.

3 - when do i take the medical? i've read somewhere if i get the IMM 1017B Upfront Medical Report form i can get the medical done ahead of time?

Fill up the post ITA profile. Next section will show the personalized checklist.

Book an appointment right away. You don't need that form. Your ITA letter would suffice. Insist on eMedical.
