Confused about TRV..where to apply?

Hi, I am planning to have a vacation in the Philippines this January 2011 but my TRV as a contract worker has already expired last January of this year. My work permit is still valid until June 2011. I was just wondering where can I submit my application for re-entry visa? I was actually gathering all my documents and application forms and ready to submit to Seattle but later I found out in the cic website that it is required to apply in my country of nationality?? ( i was gonna add a link here of the cic page but it won't allow me to post a link) Can somebody please tell me if it's ok also to process it in Seattle? So that when I have my short vacation, I don't have to worry about this whole process in the Philippines. Thanks in advance for your help.

You can send Seattle.

If you are in Canada with a temporary work permit and need to apply for a TEMPORARY RESIDENT VISA to travel abroad, please provide:

* A photocopy of your current permit and
* A letter from your employer or other proof of current employment.

Just have all the needed documents with your application.

Thanks so much for the quick response! I have another question, on the Document checklist, is the letter from my employer stating of my present employment with them can be considered as proof of funds? By the way, I also need your advice like which courier (Canada post, fed ex, etc) i will be sending this to? thanks!

Personally, I used FedEx. Your contract/current WP can be your proof of funds.

hello mga kababayan!!!

@mindy7 same kayo ng situation ng mr. ko apply din siya TRV kasi uwi siya sa pinas this coming march na, wait lang namin yung WP extension kung ma approve then apply naman ng TRV ,,, confused lng ako nung nag apply kami ng WP extension di ba sa application form ng application to changes condition i check mo kung anung services gusto mo so i checked C initial work permit extension and E another temporary permit kasi nga matagal na expired yung TRV niya last jan 2010 pa then nagbayad kami ng $350 para sa dalawang services ask ko lng kung kailangan pa ba niya uli mag apply ng TRV kasama na nga sa application niya yun please help naman naguguluhan ako....

By the way I have another question (whoever knows about this..pls help) kasi ni review ko ang application form ko. About sa details of visit - INDICATE HOW LONG WILL YOU STAY...what can you advise po sa FROM na date? senxa na po if marami akong tanong..i just wanna make sure kasi that i fill out the form correctly to make sure d ma delay ang pagprocess. thanks again for all your help.

@ondang2..Hi! I am not really sure po about that kung pwede ipagsabay sa pag apply ng work permit at huwag ng mag apply separately. Kasi a friend of mine told me also about that na pwede rin daw dyan sa isang form. You just have to choose letter E. kasi ako nakalimutan kung gawin yan when i applied for an extension of work permit. Maybe the experts here in the forum can give us answers for that. and by the way, did you include your husband's passport na when you submitted the application package?

Hi Ondang2, i was about to send my application through fed ex but I didnt know that you are supposed to have a fed ex account in order that you can send out documents. and to have a fed ex account i need to have a credit card. i called fed ex number and the customer service agent told me that i need to use my OWN credit card so that to have my own account. so i didn't send out my application to seattle since i dont have a credit card yet. i have decided to have my re enty visa stamped from the Philippines instead. how's your husbands application for re entry visa?

To Job_seeker, i'm just gonna ask if may iba pa bang way na d na dapat magka credit card to send out documents to seattle? kasi i also have a friend that need to apply for re-entry visa. as far as i know, fed ex lang talaga ang accepted na courier when sending documents to the embassy sa seattle. Oops I did not read the previous posts You don't have a credit card so you can't open a fedex account. try Buffalo, you can get priority mail or something from canada post. and send it to the fort erie address.

@ job_seeker..Thanks! can you please tell me how long usually is the processing? Because I was thinking if I would send it to Buffalo or rather have it processed in the Philippines. I also found out that there is another supplementary form when applying in the Philippines. There was one question that's asking if if you had taken any caregiver course. I am just concerned since I have finished a caregiver course back in 2003 and I don't have any intention to apply here in Canada as a caregiver since as far as I know it is not valid anymore. (I entered Canada through the low skilled Pilot Project) In order that you can be in the Live In caregiver program, you should have at least taken the course within the last 3 years. Do you have any idea, if this would cause any problems with my application for re-entry in the Phil? Should I give details that I don't have any intention at all to be in the Live in caregiver program?or just simply write the information about when and where i took my caregiver course. I am really confused, your answers will be greatly appreciated. Thanks again!

hello he is still waiting for his work permit extension hopefully this January then apply na siya ng TRV actually confused nga kami kung san siya mag apply, ang tagal kasi kung sa buffalo dami kasi nag aapply unlike sa philippines, kya lng iba parin kung may re entry visa kana bago umuwi para wala ka ng iintindihin sa pinas enjoy nalang yung vacation hayz.......
