Hello Seniors,

I just did my landing (in province landing) earlier at a CIC office. The process literally took a mere 5 minutes and the agent told me it takes about 2-3 months to receive the PR card. Now the agent did not tell me that I had to apply for a PR card or anything along those lines.

However I see that there is a link in cic.gc.ca to apply for the initial PR card.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/prcard.asp

I'm a little confused now. Do I need to apply for a PR card or will it be taken care of by the CIC office where I just completed my landing.

Re: Confised about PR card - Post Landing

Applying for the PR Card is part of the landing procedure, probably you signed the form and didn't realise it. You don't have do apply again.

Re: Confised about PR card - Post Landing

no. you don't need to apply for your first one, they'll process it as part of your landing.
you need that link to apply to renew your PR card in about 5 years time - assuming you'll want to renew it.

Re: Confised about PR card - Post Landing

Thanks for the clarification guys! +1
