Confused about PCC needed or not?

Hi there,

I am about to apply soon for citizenship and a bit confused about PCC. Please check timeline below

Oct 2019 - Became PR and left back to Middle East for job. (soft landed)

Oct 2019 - Feb 2020 UAE
Feb 2020 - Sep 2020 Pakistan
Sep 2020 - Jan 2021 Qatar
Jan 2021 - Feb 2021 Pakistan
Feb 2021 - Apr 2021 Qatar
Apr 2021 - May 2021 Pakistan
May 2021 - July 2021 Qatar
July 2021 - Aug 2021 Pakistan
Aug 2021 - Nov 2021 Qatar

Nov 2021 - Landed back and never left Canada.
Nov 2024 - About to apply for Citizenship.

I was in an oil & gas job that required me to frequently travel to/from my home country and in last 4 years, other than solid 3 years in Canada, I never stayed in 1 country for a consecutive 183 days after becoming PR. However, I did stay in UAE and Pakistan for 6 months if we go far back as 5 years.

Do you guys think I need to supply a PCC for my citizenship application? Based on my understanding, I just need a LOE to say I didn't stay for 6 months in last 4 years outside Canada.

Thanks for your help. It is a nostaglic feeling to be back on this forum after many years. I used to be here 24/7 when I was preparing my PR application.

Technically, you don’t need a PCC since you didn’t stay in the country for 183+ days. However, since you were outside Canada from Oct 2019 to Nov 2021, IRCC will likely request a PCC for Pakistan/Qatar. You can submit it proactively or wait for them to ask for it. Many people submit it proactively to speed up processing, as waiting for documents can cause delays as Oath officer may take there own sweet time to go over it later.
