Go to this link for cec checklist

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5610E.PDF

• copies of your most recent T4 tax information slips and your Notice of Assessment issued by Canada Revenue
Agency,
• up-to-date letters of reference from your past and current employers for the past 3 years.
Letters must be:
• written on company letterhead,
• signed by the responsible officer/supervisor,
• have the printed name and title of the responsible officer/supervisor beneath the signature,
• show the company's full address, telephone and fax numbers, e-mail and website addresses, • stamped with the company's official seal (if applicable).
Letters must include all of the following information:
• the specific period of your employment with the company,
• the positions you have held during the period of employment and the time spent in each position,
• your main responsibilities and duties in each position,

I'm also having the same confusion but when one of my colleague asked an immigration lawyer. He was told that he must be in Canada for 3 years with 1 year full time supervisory work experience before he can apply to avoid rejection.

You need to meet these requirements to apply under the Canadian Experience Class. You must:
have at least 12 months of full-time (or an equal amount in part-time) skilled work experience in Canada in the three years before you apply,

Confusing though. How do you interpret this

If 1 year skilled experience is enough within 1 year of staying here that would be great !

It's saying that if you have 1 year xp from say 2002 to 2003, that is not eligible as its not WITHIN the past 3 years - they want people with recent experience in Canada

No idea
You quoted the paragraph yourself though so I'm not sure how much more clear it can be

I would guess the confusion usually happens for those still learning English, interpreting "in the three years before you apply" to mean that the applicant must be in Canada for at least 3 years.

We apologized because not all users here are as good as YOU in English, however we still believe what the experts would say.

cheers!

Hi ,

Do not get confused ...it simply means that you should have atleast 1 year of experience in Canada in the last 3 years .

Why would old employment references be needed past three years? They are not related to current one..
May the one that is current be enough?

don't worry you don't need 3 years at Canada just to have your Canadian experience within the 3 previous years, so they take in account only your work experience from 36 months back from the date your application is sent

Chill. I was just suggesting a perfectly valid reason, no need to overreact and get offended.
