Confused about bringing money

Hi friends!

I'm about to do my landing and am a little confused regarding the requirement of declaring money if it's more than $10,000. I'm not actually bringing in cash or other monetary instruments, I have a US TD account and plan to simply transfer my funds to a Canadian TD account once I open it. Do I have to declare anything at the time of landing or later at the time of the transfer?

No, you only need to declare cash over 10K if you are bringing it with you. If you will do a etransfer later, then no need to declare it. If the transfer is over 10K, the bank will report the transaction automatically
