Confirming Medical results have been recieved - How Critical???

Hi Guys,

I have realized that its very important to send the medicals and get confirmation / acknowledged by Ottawa after medical test is done.

Some of us do send the medical confirmation receipt and try to get Ottawa acknowledge and some of us DO NOT.

Please share the details steps on " How to make sure that medicals have been received and attached to file" to all of us.

I have seen a case posted here where his/her case was denied as they never received medical even though s/he did e-medical. Could be some technical glitch

u need to call the clinic and make sure ur medical was sent after about 4 business days , that's all. I never send any receipt to cic.

I have seen people sending emails to pilot@@@@ottawa.com..- but do we know where the medical results are sent? Is it a FOSS system? I dont know what this system is? But is there a way that we can confirm that medicals have been feed into their "whatever" system.

Sometime Ottawa does not respond to your email and you never know whether the medical results have been received or not?

Especially in case of Upfront Medical, there is high chances that medical results could be lost.

ur Dr. will send the medical to cic. it s not ur responsibility. u only have to make sure that it is done. cic will contact u via ecas that medical results have been received. u don't need to do upfront either because they will let u know when to do it.

I have never seen a case where the Dr. lied about sending out result. The person that got denied never followed up on her medical but it is up to u, do whatever u wish.

What you are describing is "Happy Go scenario" and everybody is find with that. And I guess you are one of the applicant who have experienced this scenario?

Please look for a case on CEC Tracker where a case was denied as they received medicals withing stipulated time.

So the intent of this thread is not to know the normal process of doing medicals/ who sends medical results and etc etc ..but following two points.

1. If we need to confirm the receipt of medical by Ottawa?
2. if the answer to question 1 is yes and the how?

You are referencing one such case of which we do not know the complete circumstances. There's no need to confuse and worry everyone else about something that rarely occurs or has even happened before. Follow the intructions and do your part well and all will be well. No one has to start making up their own rules or trying to change the way we are meant to do things.

Folks,
Be it medicals or fingerprints, every test has a process and associated fees. Every applicant pays money and therefore, they must always insisit on an acknowledgement / receipt. It is very important to track results of these tests and to avoid any confusion, always good to send the evidence of having undergone the tests to CIC.

yeah, I have read the post and it is slightly different from ur thread. from my understanding, this person did the medical but never followed up on whether the clinic sent it to cic or not. s/he got relaxed thinking everything was done but unfortunately, it wasn't sent so s/he got denied after cic awaited the meds result probably after 60 days given period. This case is very strange and very rare in this forum. but my advice to u is to follow it up on the clinic and make sure ur result was sent and I know they wont lie about it. writing or calling cic might not be the best option. it is all up to the clinic that did the medical. but like u said earlier, more inputs will be required. btw, have u done medical for cec yet?? best of luck.

my 2 cents....there is no defined process by CIC that the applicant should follow up with CIC to make sure that the medical results reached them. My personal suggestion is the applicant has to make sure that the DMP sends the results to cic. Also, once DMP confirms that the results have been sent, email CIC with the medicals receipt and request them to confirm the same. Couple of us have done this way and have received the confirmation from CIC too. There is no harm in following up with CIC to confirm the receipt of medicals.

It's not your responsibility to inform CIC about sending medicals. It's up to your doc to do so and send
the medicals. However, you sure go ahead and ask CIC if meds have been received, don't expect
and answer tho, you'll get a response if you're lucky.

And if you're refering to that one case, posted a few days ago where someone got rejected,
we don't know all the details about that case, so don't worry.
