I recently received a passport request letter from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) regarding my Permanent Residence application. However, as a Bahamian citizen with an approved Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA), I am exempt from submitting my original passport and have been instructed to provide only a photocopy of the passport photo page along with other required documents.
I understand that applicants submitting their original passports must pay the VAC Passport Transmission Fee, but my situation is slightly different. Therefore, I would like to confirm whether I am still required to pay this fee even though my package will not include an original passport and does not need to be returned to me?
