Hi
International student here. I had applied to the Winter intake in Confederation College and a reputed university.
Confed was through an agent but the Uni application wasn't. It was almost 5 months but the uni didn't give me an update.
Was offered admission from Confed. So paid the first sem fee under parental pressure as they thought I wasn't good enough to get into a Uni so wouldn't get an admission.
1 week after paying the fee, I get accepted to the Uni. but here't the twist. The university offered me a Summer admission as the Winter seats were full. I chose to Uni over Confed (naturall, right ?) and wanted a refund.
Confed site for international students is confusing. It says the following-
1. Visa denial: $250 will be charged (before 10 day period)
2. Any other reason: $2500 will be charged (after 10 day period)
it also says,
3. No refund for any other reason.
Am I going to lose the first sem fee of around $9000? that's too much money and is almost equivalent to my family's 2 year income. Losing it will be a huge blow in the balls to us.
Can some one enlighten me on the refund and withdrawl rules and give me some info.
Thanks.
