Hi

According to Canada's Immigration website, with the new law being passed, it seem that the amount of time you have to wait until your spouse can land in Canada has been reduced.

According to the site your spouse will land in Canada within less then a year. Can anybody confirm if this is true and has anyone sponsored after the law was passed.

Could u please link up to that website.....so we can see it........and now I dont know anyone who has applied after that but have heard they r speeding up process.

I'm not allowed to post links. But google "canada immigration conditional permanent residence timeline" and click the first link and scroll down to the see the timeline graph

I believe you're referring to the timeline here:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/media/backgrounders/2012/2012-10-26a.asp

If so, this timeline does not in any way indicate that wait times until your spouse can land in Canada have been reduced. This timeline simply shows what happens AFTER your spouse has landed in Canada.

So the answer to your question is unfortunately no. There is no indication that the amount of time you have to wait until your spouse can land in Canada has been reduced as a result of conditional permanent residency.
