How do you know you got admitted without the official letter? Do they e-mail you before?

My Concordia Portal...yesterday the status shows that I have been admitted.. Asked to accept or reject the offer.. I accepted it...now status is showing as "we are pleased you have accepted admission to this program, and look forward to welcoming you to Concordia University! You must pay the confirmation deposit before able to proceed with registration. Please contact the person who signed the offer of admission should you need any further assistance"

well thesis based masters is better option as you could get scholarships or RA... and is always preferred.
