it's not necessary unless you want to know the final decision online before your passport is dispatched. and yes, you'll get the updates through mail without linking the application. hope this helps.

But I didn't submit my passport, because when the time I applied they didn't accept passport with the application due to covid 19, and I didn't complete medical , if I didn't link into online, should I get the medical request by mail?
