Work from home jobs are very hard to get. A lot of people want them, but there aren't many available.

It doesn't matter if you're a single mom or have a spouse. Your kids cannot be around you while you work. They need to be in school or in childcare. If your supervisor hears you tending to the kids during work hours, you can be fired. (Even playing the same room - you must be in a room alone with the door CLOSED.) It's up to you to figure out childcare. Hiring managers for work-at-home have enough people asking for jobs. They don't have to accomodate you and they won't.

When they schedule you is between you and the managers. The most needed hours are evenings and weekends.

I have no idea what childcare costs in Manitoba, but you can contact the provincial government and request a childcare subsidy. (That's what we call it in Alberta at least.) If you qualify, they will help pay for childcare. Just be forewarned, not all dayhomes/daycares accept subsidy and depending on your area, there may be a waiting list for a centre with subsidy. You can also use subsidy to cover childcare to job hunt, interview, etc.

If you receive any child support from the father, you will have to declare that on the application - along with all forms of income (i. e., job, alimony, etc.)

Just a note - if you are living with another adult (doesn't matter if it's a boyfriend, roommate, your mom, etc ANY adult) you MUST put them on the form. If you don't and the government finds out, they will yank your benefits. It's extremely difficult to get them back after that. We know a lady this happened to (she didn't list her boyfriend) and now years later, the government won't give her any benefits besides the tax credit.
