i believe many of you have already completed your citizenship application or in the process of completing your application. I was wondering how much information are you all providing for questions such as
1. provide photocopies of the biographical pages of our passport for the last six years or since you became a permanent resident - would you provide all six years if it is not necessary or just provide the last 4.5 years which would be my relevant period ?
2. proof of language evidence - i have taken IELTS 7 years ago. would that suffice or should I also provide a copy of my college diploma and transcript that was completed in the USA.

do you guys provide more information than asked or do you provide only what is asked ? Is more better or is more confusing ?

thanks

Regarding IELTS, if you done IELTS General (not academic) and even it has expired, you can still utilize it to apply for citizenship as a language proof.

For Q1, If you became permanent resident 4.5 years ago, then this is the period you need to cover in terms of passports, if you became a PR 6+ years ago then you need to submit the copies for the past 6 years.

Do you have the photocopy of the IELTS certificate? If yes, submit it along with the application.
Was the original one submitted during the immigration? If not, where is it? If it was submitted during immigration and if officer demands it during test, you can tell him/her that it was submitted in original during the immigration process. If you have lost the original one and officer demands for it during interview then I can't say what will happen.

This is the criteria for IELTS as per the following link:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/CIT0002ETOC.asp

International English Language Testing System (IELTS), general training, not the academic version You must have achieved a score of:
4.0 or higher in speaking, and
4.5 or higher in listening. (Please note: If the test was done before November 28, 2008, we will accept a level 4 or higher); or

If you meet the criteria, you can submit your application with IELTS as language proof.

I didn't think I needed it so I believe i shredded it. I made a copy before I shredded it. I have bachelor degree from a university in USA. I may have to go that route..

Include copy of IELTS results, copy of U.S. degree, and transcript too (if you have it). It doesn't hurt to be thorough.
