I have a question regarding complete application with AIP. I have complete application and received AIP end of August. Can I assume that my study permit is approved and I can get OPR very soon?

When did you submit your application?

I am sorry for bringing this up. On IRCC's website, they said this

"If your application passes this first stage, we’ll let you know in your online account. This doesn’t guarantee that we’ll approve your application and issue you a study permit".

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/coronavirus-covid19/students.html

But this is the same statement as you are not guaranteed entry into a country even if you have a visa. I think the chance of getting a rejection after AIP is very slim.

In my opinion, u can only get rejected after AIP if u have any sort of criminal background or u fail medical exam. Otherwise u r good.

Is your university on the DLI list? If it is, then expect to get a BVL soon and shorlty after that an OPR. As others said in this thread, though AIP is no guarantee..... It is highly unlikely that it is followed by a refusal. Even in many GCMS notes shared in this forum, the VO's remarks are very positive when a 1st stage approval is granted. You're in good shape, I think the only thing holding back an OPR is either where you are in line or whether your school is in the famous list.

Mine too is on the list, UNBC. Already started classes in September. Applied 31st July, medicals passed 7th August, received AIP on 7th August, Biometrics completed on 16th September. Nothing since then
