Hello guys, So i have been with my GF now about 4 years (we met and lived together in Austrailia and england) Lived in canada now for a year. She is looking to sponsor me but i'm a little concerned as i have been reading you have to earn a certain amount to be able to sponsor. Now my GF earns a lot of money as a server, obviously most of its tips though. Anybody got any advice? I'm from england and we will be applying outland once we have lived together a year (lived together 10 months at the minute)

I don't know too much about applying with a common-law as such, but it's my understanding that tips/gratuities (or bonuses, commissions, overtime pay etc.) don't count towards the required income levels. It needs to be the "base" wage that's high enough on its own. Or at least this is the case with most provincial programs. I would confirm this with the CIC call centre - a quick google search didn't clear this up for me.
