Hello, thank you for reading!

Female, 30, Canadian, Uni administrator, have been temping for the past few years
Male, 29, Irish, personal trainer, has a masters of science in strength and conditioning, has mostly worked in gyms

I'm looking to sponsor my boyfriend as a Common Law Partner to Canada for next year when our second year Australia visa is up.

Facts:

April 2014-July2014 (3.5 months) started dating in Canada, we met while working at the same restaurant
July2014-January2016 (17.5 months) dating long distance while he was home in Ireland
Jan2016-May2017 (16 months) living in Ireland with friends (we were in one bedroom), not on the lease or bills
May2017-Sept2017 (4 months) He went to chicago for an internship and I moved into our own place but I was the only one on the lease
Sept2017-April2018 (8 months) we realised he should be put on the lease when he came back (Ireland)
April2018-Sept2018 (6 months) we travelled to Australia and lived in a hostel together (have written proof)
mid Sept 2018-Now (5.5 months) we are both on a lease in an apartment in Australia

Questions:
Is it ok that we are both living in Australia, and neither of us will be in Canada until we (hopefully) get the visa?
is it ok that we don't have proof of living together consecutively for more than a year? Does he being on the lease since September in Ireland and then us moving to Australia count as a consecutive year?
How can i prove that I can support him financially if we don't live in Canada? My dad has a house that he is going to rent out to us in Canada, and he owns his own restaurant, would that be useful in any way to mention to show that if we weren't able to provide for ourselves my parents will be able to help?

Thanks so much for reading!!

Long version of the above:

My boyfriend and I started dating in Canada in April 2014. We worked together since October of that year, if that's relevant but didn't have much interaction until we started dating.
He moved back to Ireland in July 2014 and we were long distance until i moved to Ireland in January 2016.
We lived together with friends (no lease, no joint bills or anything) until May 2017. I moved into my own place and he went to Chicago for an internship for a few months and then moved in with me when he came back. (September 2017). We were together the whole time but he wasn't on the lease with me until September.
We then moved out in April 2018 and travelled to Australia where we lived in a hostel from April-September 2018 and now have a lease together from September until January 2020 (which we will probably extend to April 2020 when our second year visa will be up).

I'm worried that since we were never really on a lease in Ireland we can't prove anything before September. It's so sketchy that he wasn't on the lease with me when I first moved out of our house with our friends, and I also have no idea how to prove he won't go on welfare when we're back in canada (if he gets the visa). just really worried that we're missing something, really.
