I am hoping to sponsor my partner for PR, I am a Canadian citizen and he is from Italy. We have been in a relationship for over 1.5 years, living together as a couple for over a year. However, much of this time we spent travelling together or subletting apartments together. Therefore, we do not have a lease with both of our names on it. We have also recently moved countries so again we were travelling for an extended time. I am wondering if someone has been in this situation and what people know about providing evidence in this situation. Do we need to wait until we have 1 year of stable living together, or can we apply based on our situation. Here is our the timeline of our relationship:
January 2017- started dating
July 2017-August 2017: travelling together (plane tickets, photos and accomodation rentals for proof)
September 2017: subletted a room from friends in Australia (can have a contract drawn up, Bank statements to prove paying rent)
October 2017 - July 2018: subletted a room in an apartment in Australia (can have a contract drawn up, Bank statements prove rent paid, phone bills, payslips etc to prove address- we also opened a bank account together in this time)
August - September 2018: 2 months of visiting family together in Europe (plane tickets, photos, family letters for proof)
October 2018: moved to London, UK- have signed a rental contract together
