I agree that there is no quick way to do this. It took my partner and I a year just to prepare our application. I recommend getting letters from friends and family who acknowledge your relationship (we sent in 11 letters). Include copies of leases bills etc. in both of your names. We got the medical and background check before we sent in the application. We also paid the fees before we sent in our application. Include photographs. I also included a letter stating how connected our lives are and how much my life would be affected if we were to be separated.

I think with the rest of it, you're on your own. The paperwork is pretty self-explanatory and there are many forums etc. that are very helpful in filling it out. But, I also agree that you will get the hang of it once you get the ball rolling. Don't forget, if you have more information that you might have forgotten once you sent in the application, you are able to send it or fax it in. The system really is there to help us. You're sounding a little frantic and stressed right now, just take a deep breath and get the ball rolling. Find a way to stay organised throughout the process (sticky notes, post it tabs, and labeled clear files helped us tremendously). Our application package was over 2" thick in the end and it was a very satisfying feeling in the end when we realised that we finished it mostly on our own! Print off multiple copies, we had ours organised in a way that yellow post its meant finished, pink meant that we hadn't even started and orange meant that we were waiting for information to be received. In the end, it was just a giant pile of papers held together with metal clips.I recommend just getting all of the necessary paperwork done (these can be found in the checklist) and then filling in the application.

Stay positive!
