Hi Guys,

My Common Law Sponsored me to stay in the country with her forever. Now I am trying to figure out what the process is from here.

So far We've done all the paperwork, evidence, and medical + Visa extension for myself.

My Imm Lawyer has informed me I'll get to Stage one, get a new bit of paperwork, then what?

Do I just sit tight now and wait for my PR Card to arrive in the mail? Assuming they don't call us in for an interview.

Are you applying inland or outland? If outland, what visa office are you going through? Here's the general rundown though:

Stage 1 is where your partner is approved as a sponsor. Stage 2 is where you're approved as an applicant. Your sponsor will be notified when Stage 1 is complete, and then your file will be transferred. You will be notified when State 2 is complete.

Assuming that everything is approved, you'll get a PPR, which stands for passport request, at the end of stage 2. You mail off your passport according to the instructions given to you, and it's mailed back with a visa. This visa is NOT permanent residency, it is what allows you to become a PR via "landing". You can land at a border, or sometimes at an international airport without leaving the country if you are already in Canada. Landing is straightforward, you'll be directed to an area that's separate from the normal customs, sign a few papers, get your passport stamped. When you land, your address will be confirmed. You become an official PR upon landing. AFTER landing, your PR card is mailed to you. These cards are currently taking about 10 weeks to arrive.

Thanks! :)

I assume After Stage One all is good, My Spouse doesn't need to worry about providing anything else?

If you submitted the whole application at once, which you should have, then probably. The visa office can still ask for additional information if they want.
