Hi , I need some guidance from people who dealt with this situations before to help me understand a few things.

Im a Male, Canadian Citizen and Im in the process of sponsoring my Common Law spouse . She is an international Student here in Toronto, ON and we've lived together for well over a year now. I've got all the applications sorted out and everything seems to be pretty straight forward so far. The only problem I have is whether to send the application Inland or Outland . Now, Ive talked to a few so called Layers and its been frustrating. Some want $4000 before they open their mouth and some down even know what they are talking about. I know that Outland is better because it should take faster and it won't limit Common Law spouse on her traveling.
BUT, here is my dilemma : How exactly do I file my application for Outland WHEN my Common Law spouse lives with me here in Toronto and has a current Student multiple entry VISA, Current study permit and Off Campus Work permit all valid till July 2015. So she technically doesn't need another VISA issued to her because she already has one. Is there a specific Letter or an Application I need to file to make sure my Application is sent Outland ? or is there a different address I need to type in the application for Visa office (Ottawa Maybe ?)

Can the application be sent as Outland to Ottawa because my spouse already legaly lives here ?

Maybe I didn't get something but I went through the applications that I got from Cic.gc.ca and I could not find any box to indicate whether this is going to be Inland or Outland

I appreciate your help

It doesn't matter where she is to submit an Outland application - just indicate that the application is Outland. I think there are certain forms Inland applicants need to submit, so do NOT submit them. In the section where you choose her visa office, choose the visa office of the country or region she is from.

Also, it might help if you clearly wrote on the envelope or attached a page at the very front saying OULAND application. I've heard of people who have had their applications returned to them unprocessed because CIC got confused and thought they were inland but the people hadn't included the forms for inland application since they're applying outland.

Just make sure to fill the OUTLAND application package, and not the inland one. OUTLAND is here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/fc.asp
Some forms are different for inland vs outland.

One of the forms asks for visa office requested for processing, so just put Ottawa. Though keep in mind CIC may decide to send the app to outland office based on citizenship. So if you really want Ottawa, write a cover letter explaining why and hopefully they listen to it.

And entire package will be sent to CPC-Mississauga.

So, which one is it? Those 2 statements are contradicting each other.

If I indicate the office based on her current documents of residence, would;t there be more chances that she will be asked to attend an interview at that location? And if I choose Ottawa in that box , would that mean that Interview is more likely to take place in Ottawa or at least somewhere in Ontario?

I appreciate the responses so far.

You can select Ottawa based on the fact that she has been admitted to Canada for more than a year but CIC may choose to send her app to the office in her country of nationality anyways.

The chances of an interview for a common-law app are very low. If there is an interview, it will be wherever the app gets sent for processing (Ottawa or her country of nationality).

I would likew to know the update to the applicant since I am in the same boat.
