Common-law sponsorship not confirmed to be received

My partner and I posted off our common-law application and it should have arrived two and a half weeks ago. I'm wondering when you receive a confirmation it was received/has started being processed? Thanks in advance.

On the very low, very lucky end you're looking at 4-6 weeks to hear anything from IRCC. Some folks have had to wait 8+ weeks. Your application is probably still sitting in a pile waiting to be opened, or if it's been opened its waiting for someone to go through it to make sure it's not missing something.

Settle in, they estimate 12 months for a reason.

Submitted on or after December 7, 2016. Then approx processing time is 12 months,
This processing time includes:

• the time you need to give your biometrics
• the assessment of the sponsor and the person being sponsored
• the time IRCC need to make sure you meet eligibility requirements
