Common-Law proofs and translation requirements

Hi ppl!
Can you help me with a doubt please?

I am in Common-law with my partner, and we will provide some docs like:

- a statutory declaration of a common-law union (more than 12 months old)
- my life insurance policy (with her as beneficiary and also more than 12 months old)
- mail addressed to either or both of you at the same address (random mails from some months)
- credit card bills (6 months old till current time)
- photo together

Do we need more proof?
Or maybe just statutory declaration, life insurance and a photo are enough?


And about translation, in CIC website it says:

What language should my supporting documentation be in?

Unless instructed otherwise by a CIC employee, all supporting documentation must be:

in English or French; or
If it is not in English or French, it must be accompanied by:

the English or French translation; and
an affidavit from the person who completed the translation; and
a certified photocopy of the original document.

Ok it seems clear, however, should i also translate mail and bills?
It would be a non-sense translate this kind of stuff as the names and addresses are there anyway.

The proofs that you are attaching are sufficient.

For the translations, if it is not costing you much then please go ahead and get the translations done. Just to be sure.

In my opinion you can add more documents to prove your cohabitation. E.g joint property documents, rental agreement, lease agreement etc.

Sadly we don't have those, it isn't our apartment nor we pay for living on it, so we don't have any docs related.

See the main concern here is to prove that you guys are 'cohabitating in a conjugal relationship' .. Most of your documents prove their is a relationship and that you guys 'maybe' sharing the same address. Mails sent to same address is not sufficient in itself to prove that you both have a conjugal setup at the said address. It could be sent to a hostel, business address, parents address etc. I hope you are getting my point. Try adding utility bills, bank statements, letter from property owner etc. You can then connect the dots with a letter. This way you will have enough in your file to convince the VO that you indeed qualify as a Common-law applicant.
