Hi everyone,
My partner (Korean) and I have lived together in South Korea for a year and I’m stressing about proof of cohabitation.

1. Lease and bills (only is PA name) - she did all the apartment hunting before I arrived and set up everything. The bills are in her name as well.
2. Joint bank accounts aren’t a thing in Korea, but we have a bank account that we transfer money into every month to cover home expenses
3. No car for car insurance

We do have:
1. Government ID cards that list both of us at this address
2. Independent phone bills,
bank statements, mail that we’ve received.
3. 4 letters from friends and family confirming that we live together (can get more)
4. Pictures taken throughout the year in our home

feedback is appreciated.
TIA

A lease would have been helpful. You will need bills with both your names, the date and the address starting from the date you are claiming common law and throughout the year especially since you don’t have a common lease. Pictures and letter can only do so much you really need concrete proof.

Tax documents with your status as common law? Insurance policies naming each other as beneficiary? Work benefits including spouse?
We’re a same sex couple in Korea so in terms of insurance policies, work benefits, or something giving us legal common law status here can’t be provided.
