Hello everyone, very sad situation here:

I came to Canada 2 years ago as visitor (eTA) for couple months. 2024 January 5th I went to the US, for 10 minutes just to come back to Canada same day, to activate my IEC Open Work Permit for 12 months. 2024 December 14th I applied for PR Common Law Sponsorship with my girlfriend. I had very strong documents in applications, I was able to proof living with her in past 3 years together. Then 2 weeks before my work permit expired I applied for Open Work Permit based on that I'm waiting for my PR application and I was holder of valid work permit 2 weeks before it expires.

Now, today my PR application got returned because I didn't sign correctly consent and declaration form (I forgot to use my middle name!!)

Now looks like I'm pretty screwed. I worked for my employer less than year, I cannot restore my work permit status as IEC can't be extended. What options do I have right now? We can't survive without job in Canada :( Please help!!!

But your OWP application hasn't been returned or refused yet.
So you may still have maintained status.
I will let others respond on what you can do...

Well I'm not sure if I should stop working right now? Just don't want to make things worse, but on the other hand I need to work to survive!

Technically you can continue working until the OWP is refused.

Resubmit sponsorship application asap.

Once the OWP is refused, you will need to stop working.

Do you qualify for a second IEC?

You should NOT refer to your Common Law partner as your `girlfriend'.

As suggested, resubmit the sponsorship application(s) ASAP and hope your OWP is not cancelled!

Good luck!

No unfortunately I don't :( That need to be Express Entry
Sorry. I don't understand this answer. I was asking if you qualify for another IEC based on the passport you hold. This isn't related to the EE program.

If you could go back in time I would have said to apply for common law sponsorship as soon as you arrived in Canada a year ago. This is the risk of leaving it to the last minute. Anyway, you can't change that now.

Get the sponsorship application resubmitted asap.

Well, I hate that guy in the mirror who was waiting for PR applications for whole year... Anyway, I'm from Poland and I'm not able to apply for another IEC. So, dang what do I do if my work permit will be refused :(

You have to stop working. Then wait until you receive AOR after submitting the new sponsorship application and then apply for the OWP again once you have AOR.

OMG, thanks... IS that the only way :(? Waiting for AOR can take months, even 12 months, totally random. I'm afraid of that :(

I've never heard of AOR taking 12 months. I think you are confusing AOR with AIP. AOR is typically 2-3 months. However you will also need to apply for restoration if the OWP is refused which will extend wait times.

If you cannot remain in Canada for a number of months without working, alternative is to leave Canada to go work outside of Canada and resubmit the sponsorship application outland.

So this link doesn't help you at all. You need to wait six months from the time your first IEC ends before applying for another one. You still have the same problem.
OP needs to wait for 6 months and apply. But if OP is afraid that sponsorship AOR will take 12months, 6 months from Dec isn't so bad.

Poland—Working Holiday
Description: The Working Holiday category is designed for Polish citizens who intend to travel in Canada and who wish to find temporary paid employment to help pay for their trip (up to 12 months).

Note: As a Polish citizen, you may participate in IEC twice. You must choose a different category each time. There must be a six-month break between the expiry date of your first Canadian work permit under IEC and the submission date of your second IEC work permit application.
