Hi
I am in the process of completing the application for permanent residence as a federal skilled worker. I have been in a relationship for almost four years, but we have only been living together for the last three months. Should I include her as a common-law partner? If I don't, does it mean that I will not be able to sponsor her later on if I obtain permanent residence?
Thanks!
Jim

Thank you for the quick reply! So is it not a requirement to be living together for at least a year? What kind of proof can you advise to show? We've had a joint account for a few years, have gone on trips together so we can provide pictures, and could get testimonials from family/friends. Is there anything else we should submit and will it be enough?

Pre-Assessed..
You can not include her as a common law partner yet but as soon as you have lived together for 12 months, you should update your status with immigration that you now have the status of common law and wish to add your partner to your application.
