Do you mean you are now a permanent resident?Tishfaith said:Hi,
On the same topic.
If I recently for my PR through Express Entry and I now have been with someone/common law partner for 1 year can I now sponsor him?
When did you land as a PR and when did you become common-law?Tishfaith said:If I recently for my PR through Express Entry and I now have been with someone/common law partner for 1 year can I now sponsor him?
If you have an application for PR in process, you cannot "sponsor" a family member, but you can add him to your application. In fact, you are required to add him to your application. Send a CSE to IRCC, inform them that your family status has changed, you now have a common-law partner and would like to add him to your application, and request instructions.Tishfaith said:If I recently for my PR through Express Entry and I now have been with someone/common law partner for 1 year can I now sponsor him?

Did you become common law in January 2016 or did you start living together in January 2016? If you started living together in January 2016 - then you didn't become common law until January 2017.Tishfaith said:I got PR earlier in the year (june 2016) and i landed in October 2016 (last month) and returned to my home country.
We became common law in January 2016 so January 2017 will make 1 year.
