Hello guys,

I hope you can help me with my situation.
I am a permanent resident here in Canada. I just arrived here last may 2nd, 2018.
I returned to the Philippines to marry my wife last February this year.
We've been together for almost 10 years as a common law partner in the Philippines.
I did not declare her as my common law partner during my application for permanent residency as it will affect the process because I was considered as a dependant in my mother's application.
Now, I am going through the application forms. It is asking about my previous common relationship.
What do you all think would be the red flag if I will submit the application to sponsor her?

Your mother committed misrepresentation on her application by putting you as a dependent when you weren’t that could be a issue
You were not eligible on her application to be added
As for your red flag issue , of course it could cause a problem, why wouldn’t it ? You’re interconnected as a dependant on hers, when in reality for the last 10 years you were common-law

Your spouse is excluded from the Family Class. You cannot sponsor her.
