hello everyone,
I sponsored my partner under common law and the application was approved, my bf got the PR. Unfortunately I broke up right after his landing (within 3-4 months). I know that I have to honour the previous sponsorship agreement and can't sponsor someone else for the 3 years. the 3 year period is about to get over in a few months and I'm planning to get married to someone from back home. my question is, will I face any extra scrutiny for sure, since this is my second sponsorship application? Will they doubt how genuine our marriage is even though it is 100% genuine? even the previous application was 100% genuine and not just to get him a PR but sometimes things don't work out and that's what happened in my previous case. we have all the proofs they require such as chat history, pictures of all the engagement and wedding events, money transfers, marriage certificate, family pictures, travel tickets to meet each other, etc.

I know there's no correct answer to this as no one can predict the future and the behavior of any particular officer. but I'm just trying to get an idea on what are the chances of rejection and going into appeal. What kind of proofs would help our application to begin with?

any help is very much appreciated. thank you

Hi

Yes, you will likely face higher scrutiny, especially since the previous relationship ended so soon after landing.

Submit proofs as per the checklist. If IRCC wants to see more, they will request it.

thanks for your response. Yeah that can be provided, the only thing I'm afraid is that despite providing proof, if it gets declined, we have to go through the entire appeal process which is such a pain. I can only hope for the best at this point of time :(
