I have a concern about the common-law continuous 1-year cohabitaion requirement. If I live with my partner 6 months within Canada and then travel for 2 months ouside Canada, and again 4 months in Canada, will this satisfy the one-year cohabitation requirement?

I am afraid that my partner has to leave Canada to finish an important career event for a month or so. I will travel with her as well, but not sure if this will affect the count toward the 1-year cohabitation requirement in the eyes of the IRCC. My partner has a multiple entry visa, so entering again might not be a problem.

I will appreciate any help or experience in this regard.

Yes, this will satisfy the requirement provided you travel together for the 2 months outside of Canada. Make sure you have evidence to prove cohabitation in each of the three periods.

The evidence is critical. Make sure you have strong evidence from the very start of the period if you plan to apply for PR as soon as you hit the 1 year mark.
