Hello!

My boyfriend and I have been leaving together for more than a year. He is born and raised Canada. Right now I am waiting for my PR but it will probably take 8 more months. Now, our question is: Is there a way to register as a common in law couple and somehow get my residence through that? Or do i have to get married?

Please advice.

Thank you very much

He can sponsor you for PR if you have lived together for at least one full year and are common law. The processing time for the sponsorship application will be approximately 12 months.

No such thing as 'registering' for common law as far as IRCC are concerned.

You can of course get married, OR if you meet the IRCC definition, requirements and can supply their stated proofs, you can apply as common law.
