i did read but still don't really understand why..

it seems unfair and kinda wrong, i was recruited by this guy. i have spent a lot of time and money on this application and feel i qualify, i am working in a job that needs guys, every week there is a requirement for a new diver on a different boat and there aren't always guys to fill the positions, so i am making a difference to your economy. i am in the process of filling my invite now and have probably wasted thousands of dollars..

what if you have a provincial nomination?

I have been invited to apply for provincial nomination and have done so, will this help?

I don't disagree with you about it being unfair, but the CEC class is based almost entirely on the testimony of Canadian employers. Keep in mind that express entry includes 2 other classes under which you might qualify - Federal Skilled Workers (FSW) and Federal Skilled Trades (FST). In both cases, the provincial nomination will definitely help (assuming it was one of the EE provincial nominations). Your NOC falls under the eligible NOCs for the FST program, so have a look at that as well as the FSW.

Take the time to read the info at the links I provided.... And BTW, a contractor that sells to different buyers is known as "self-employed." : )

Fishing and diving comes under the NOC codes that Canada requires. Which is confusing as there aren't many divers out there that aren't contractors, it's very rare.

As I filled my express entry application in I was asked whether I was nominated for provincial, I was given the means to (with a code the ircc gave me). So I filled that in, it said I could apply so I did. Paid 700 bucks for the pleasure. Looks like I'm into it now, might as well go all the way ay.

Hey bud just qualified ADAS 30m 50m Air diver and DMT thinking of moving to Canada any help would be great, would love to work the salmon farms to get my dives in. Hope you got your visa sorted.
cheers

Nice. I'm still waiting for my permanent residence, Corona has fucked everything up. Salmon farm work is easy to come by and is a good place to start to get dive time. If you manage to get over there. Give me a shout on here, I'll give you some contacts to try. Where did you do your Adas? NZ or Australia? If you're under 30 then get a working holiday visa. Also you need to convert your qualifications to DCBC. 200 dollars and bit of paperwork. Also a Canadian medical. Again easy to come by. BC also require a dive a accident management qualification. Call divesafe on Vancouver Island. Hope this helps.
