I just received my SA on Feb. 11 and I am really frightened after seeing the processing times for the permanent residence applications. I was hoping my husband would be here by April, but I guess that won't be the case.

If the visa officer believes that the applicant is not a security risk, then a normal security check is done. Normal security check is usually fast, maximum one month, and is done to ensure that the applicant has no security traces on the database.
If the applicant has red flags such as travel history or military service then the visa officer will initiate a full security screening.

This detailed security check is time consuming and its duration varies from one application to another.
Also, security screening is usually initiated early in the process, with AOR.

Hi MoudiCanada,

Thanks for the reply. My case is actually now being processed at Ottawa office. Can they also request a full security screen. What's the difference between a regular and full screening and how long does this take. Your comments will be much appreciated. Thanks

dear Siva & MoudiCanada,
I checked the " ALL SPOUSE APPEAL CASES COME HERE AND JOIN US PLZ" from the beginning up to date and realized that after winning the appeal
it takes around 1 1\2 months to 2 months for remedical, updated forms & ppc
it takes around 6 months to get the visa from the date won the appeal for most of cases here (if theres no any confusion)

It seems they take long time to process spousal sponsorships. I think it should be faster. Now waiting begins. :'(

There is a new form in November - they might ask us to resubmit them.

Hello tranjini. What form?

People in this forum are recently talking about changes on eCAS page, not everyone though. I did not notice any changes on my eCAS. Does anyone have an idea why is that?

Hello,

We are also with Colombo VO. My husband should be receiving his ppr very soon as we are expecting either end of this month or next month. My question is would he have to face a lot of inquiries ? Would it be better if I go pick him up from Sri Lanka? If anybody has experience please let me know.

Thank you.

What you mean? he is getting visa? and you want to help him?

I find it faster to sponsor a wife from Sri Lanka and hard to sponsor a guy from sri lanka. why are they being biased.

Do you mean that you want to go and pick him up after he gets his ppr?
You don't have to. The process is straight forward after he lands in Canada.
By the way, how did you know that you he is getting ppr soon?
Best wishes
