Hi ANil..can u suggest something in my case?.I do have some question...Actually , My planning was to apply for PR to canada but I think it is too far for me to get PR ..Anil_Toronto said:The college might grant an offer letter but once you arrive here, they would ask you to do an english test which is conducted by the college itself - its quite common for colleges to ask international students to do this eng test....incase your scores are not at par...you would be asked to take ESL courses before you can take the course that you initially applied.
I suggest its better that you give IELTS and have the scores mailed to the college.

below the details on questions you asked:
1. Pharmacy is a big industry here; you can apply into a lot of courses depending on what interests you. You can have a look into various college's websites to find out the details on the courses offered.
2. Toronto is a main hub here....then there are cities in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) like Mississauga, Brampton, Oakville, Hamilton which are well connected to toronto. Vancouver and Calgary are big again in the north.
3. Most colleges require 6 overall in IELTS - you would have the check with the college you want to apply as to what is their criteria. If you have time, i would suggest that you prepare and reappear for the IELTS Exam for a better score. Immigration application with your score might be a hinderance.
4. For post graduate courses, you get the work permit equivalent to the length of the course. If you do a 8 months course, you get an 8 month open work permit. For courses of 2 years and more on a post graduate level - you would get an open work permit for 3 years.
Yes, you can transfer to a different govt. approved college once you arrive here in Canada based on the study permit you get.
5. If you are married and you come to canada on a study permit, your wife is entitled to get an open work permit till you are studying. So in a way you can have her work to support the family financially.
6. Usually immigration offices ask for bank statements 6 months on - how old is the bank account wont really matter.
But they would ask for statements for last 6 months, which would give them a clear history of what's processing in/out from the account.
7. For SPP getting extended for 2011, there is no news from the Candian officials so far.
Below are the articles for you go have a list of colleges participating in SPP:

Thanks Anil for ur Reply and giving me good IDEA of SCM Module....i am planning to do a PG Diploma on SCM from Humber college... Have u Heard of this College... what is the reputation of this college and are they going to help me in getting a placement....Anil_Toronto said:Supply Chain Management is vast here....Logistics industry is quite big since a lot of porducts come as Imports in Canada and also with the trade sanctions between States, Canada and mexico.
It looks like a good option to me; am into logistics and am too planning to do some SAP modules while waiting for my PR.
There are a lot of consultants who can help you with job findings; try to google them specific to the industry you looking for - that should help. I was able to find my job through monster but yea keeping an active profile on these job sites helps a lot.

However i m ready to work in minimum wage thats not a problem... all i need a job in my own field...thats SCM...Anil_Toronto said:Hi Amrit,
Humber is a good college...quite popular in the list of public colleges here in the GTA. I was checking the course contents for SCM - the program has 2 courses in each semester covering SAP; it looks quite good. If you want to get into logistics, i would say this is a good one to start with.
Also i have come accross quite a few local institutes which provide SAP oriented courses. You may look into them depending how advanced/ deep you wish to go into SAP. Education here is a good option, specially when you start early. It's good that you have made your mind to study. Finding employment is hard but at the same time, it involves a lot of steps. Networking here is the key to success - so try and get along a lot of people from the industry/ career interests you have...this would really help in the long run.
Wish you success!!
There are a lot of agencies; you should get registered with them and ask them that you are looking for entry level jobs in logistics, warehousing and distribution. They might call you for an initial interview and then advice you on openings.amritsinghqa said:Thanks Anil.. for ur prompt response and going through the course... i am just worried about the initial phase....Its all about initial stage when finding a job is a Tough task... Also keep applying on the job sites - the usual turn around time is about 3 - 4 weeks. So you may think the company has not called but from collecting resumes online till followup for the interview it does take a while.
So yea, give your shot at the agencies around and see how it goes.
