hi, i have applied for college of new Caledonia and have got the offer letter. for acceptance letter i have to send them first year tuition. they gave me an account which is in a USA bank, i wanted to know if this is OK or regular for Canadian college to have an account in another country ? my uncle claims there is something fishy about this.

i had an email form them, they said the paymytuition is only for local students now, so i have to pay by other way.
When in doubt, check the official website. There is no other stated method other than paymytuition. If they can't update their website, then you should think twice before going to this college.

i have been emailing one of their staff,i also contacted other officials, gave me the same answer, so i told my uncle who lives in Canada to call the college directly. i am currently waiting for their answer to him.

yeah, thats the thing that got me worried, my uncle says they either wants to scam me or someone has hacked their emails. oh i also contacted paymytuition, they said their services are working fine and they don't know why college said i shouldn't use their website.
Yeah, I would get your uncle to check if you have been admitted and if their payments are working. It's possible that this is an elaborate scam where people are impersonating officials from this college. Even if they are legit, I would not make a payment through a method not publically listed. There are plenty of colleges in Canada to choose from.
I emailed them again, evidently they lied earlier and paymytuition works fine, but I think they want me to pay to their other account in other countries to pay less taxes. I’m not gonna send money to some account I’m not sure it’s safe. Thanks for your help.
Well that’s the thing that got me suspicious. I asked my uncle to call them and unluckily now is holiday season so they are not working.
Hi, I received another email from the college. It claims that they have never made such emails to me regarding sending money to an American bank. They apologized and asked me to forward those email to them since they claim all of those emails are fraudulent and scam and insisted that I should only use the official way which is stated in my offer letter and their website, by paymytuition.com. I suspect someone hacked their emails and send those emails.
Good why not chill then after you get your visa and land in Canada before your term resumes let's say like 3wks earlier then you sort your school fees issue in Canada since you are a Nigerian and you are not applying under sds.
