Cohabitation questions

Hi there, I feel like I'm bombarding this forum with questions lately but I'm stressing out and my head is exploding with confusion on what to do.

Is 1 piece of evidence dating back a year (along w/other more recent evidence) enough to prove cohabitation for common law?

Background: I've been living with my boyfriend for 14 months (since Aug 2016) but the only solid piece of evidence we have is our licenses which will place us at the same address for a year as of mid November (they were both issued Nov 2016) - and I was planning on submitting application Nov 2017 but now I'm having doubts.

All other evidence of cohabitation (bank statements, paystubs, phone bills & other mail to same address etc) is much more recent... I believe the earliest is dated March 2016. (We are living with my family, hence the lack of evidence.) Also have letters from friends/family etc. We did print off and backdate a lease agreement to Aug 2016 but as it's just with my parents and rent is $0 I don't know how much weight this will hold in the eyes of CIC.

Is it enough to just have the licenses that show we've been living together since November 2016 if we are to submit our application next month? Obviously we'd submit all other evidence mentioned above as well, but it is not at least a year.. Otherwise would have to wait until March 2018 to apply and apply inland instead....which opens another can of worms.

Any advice or experience with those in similar situations?

When we sent ours we didn't have a full year showing for some of ours. Take a look at the thread: Qualified for common law sponsorship? There's some suggestions people have done similar to yours. This process is a stressful one but remeber to relax and that asking questions is ok. Alot of people on here are helpful :)

A letter from your parents stating you have lived with them since xxx would be a good thing to include. Also get them to write in that letter that they don't charge you rent because they are helping you guys out/helping you save or whatever. It's a surprisingly common situation from what I've seen on here.

We're in a similar situation as you - we live in a condo owned by her parents, so no lease. We had them draw up a lease for when we moved in and a letter stating clearly that they are not charging us any rent so we can save up for our future. I'm not too worried about the lease, since we have a lot of other documents (such as mail, bills, IDs, tax documents, etc.) showing we've been at this address for the past 3 years.

In your case, I would recommend maybe searching through your inbox for any invoices or receipts for online shopping (on Amazon, Ebay, etc)? Maybe you took an uber to/from that address? Did you change your address with your doctor? If so, ask them to print out some documentation showing the new address and date when it was registered with them. Did you take any trip or book a car? If you live in a condo or apartment, you can also have your management write a letter of support confirming the dates you've resided at your address.

Ok thank you, that makes me feel a bit better! Has yours been approved already or are you still awaiting a decision?

Thanks, I've already gotten them to write up a letter! Going to get it notarized even though I realize it's not necessary, and I will get her to add to it about the "helping save for future" bit... good idea, thanks:)
