Hi, thanks all for a great forum. It's a relief to see that others also need some help in this process.
I am getting through the application forms with my sponsor, and have a couple of uncertainties.
My common-law partner (sponsor) and I have been together for nearly 10 years. We met and lived together in South Africa for a few years, then I took a 6-month temp job in the UK. My partner stayed in SA. During that time I was offered permanent employment in the UK. My partner and I decided to move to the UK, but it took about 1 year to get her over here (visa, moving etc). Throughout we continued our relationship with regular visits and communication.
My question is whether the 15 months we were living apart while we set things up for her to join me counts as continued 'continuous co-habitating in a conjugal relationship' for common-law sponsorship?
This shouldn't be a critical point as we have continued our relationship for over 4 years since then, but I would like to make sure we don't look like we are trying to stretch a point when answering.
Any thoughts? Thanks a ton.
