hi everyone.. i have a question if you were boyfriend/girlfriend and gf rent a small room on the house of the bf for almost a year. meaning it's cohabitat right.. bec u lived in the same house would u considered that as a commonlaw.?considering that gf has her own room and it has lock. i really need an answer thank you

That sounds like a roommate relationship and not common law. But with the same address it may pass as common law.

That depends. Does the g/f share her bed or share his bed? Do they do things as a 'couple'. Do they share finances at all?

If the couple is a true couple whether she shares a bed with her boyfriend or has her own 'room' will not really matter to CIC. They will assume it has been an ongoing relationship from the beginning and will require you prove that it is not.

thank you for your answers.. i have another question my wife is sponsoring me to come to canada..Shes a PR card holder and we have a daughter born in canada.(canadian citizen) when i filled up the form in IMM0008 theres a dependent questionare,section where u have to list your dependent i did not filled it up because my daughter is residing in canada..and shes not relying to me.. since shes living witn her mom in canada.. did i do right.. really confused right now i already send the forms.. you think it will affect my application.. plsss answer thank u

Yes, that is okay because she's already a Canadian citizen. The only time she would need to really be mentioned is on the Additional Family Information page, where they asked about parents, children, and any siblings. Otherwise, for purposes of the application, you wouldn't write her into the forms.
