Hi! Any idea what happens if one gets a coop work permit approved along with the study permit but then decides to not pursue the coop term (coop being an optional criteria for the course and one can graduate without completing coop).

My point is what will happen if I decide to not pursue coop term when I already have a coop work permit approved. Will there be any repercussions legally ?
@D_D and @primeaprime
Curious to know the same as I am in the same situation. I have my co op permit approved, but unable to find a job. I have option to graduate as the co op is optional. Can I apply for PGWP without any issues? Any problem with not utilizing the co-op permit?? Any inputs will be helpful.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I’m PSW student, this term is my 2nd term which requires co op hours. My original study permit didn’t allow me to work in Canada because I landed for English ESL first. On September 2022 when I started my main program ( PSW ) I applied on line to get work permit and extension for my visa. 4 months is the passed already and I’m still waiting for work permit and get SIN #
What should I do ? I won’t graduate without co op work…. Please advise! Thank you!

Raise a webform and ask status of work permit. Ask school if you can defer co-op .

What is webform?
school said you can work as volunteer with no pay. Could you explain about webform please? Thank you!
You cannot volunteer unless the work you are doing is not normally a paid position. You would be working illegally. Explanation for U of T. You can work up to 20 hours if your study permit states you can work off campus.

Google - IRCC webform. This is a way to ask questions about status. However processing is about 170 days so you are within normal processing times.

Thank you for your response, my study permit indicated I’m not able to work because I landed on February 2022 based on IELS program not my main program as PSW. As soon as I started my main program on September 2022 I applied to change my work conditions on my study permit, still no any news and I’m in 2nd semester which requires works to be able to graduate….. that is my issue…

thank you for information about webform appreciate!

Hi , I asked my lawyer to do webform regarding my issue ,
Can I sign in my portal and see he did or not?
I can see the list that he submitted at the first time but not webforms,
Appreciate your help!

You wait for response of a webform as it is not a submitted document. It will not be in your portal.

per my understanding for your response, it means if lawyer sent webform, I should receive for immigration response and not show in portal . Am I right?

I didn’t receive any response from immigration either, it’s more than 30 days I asked my lawyer to do webform though.
