Closed work permit and job search

Hi,

I am on closed work permit, that is work permit is tied up to particular employer. How do we find a potential employer who is ready to process LMIA/work permit for me?

It's generally quite difficult. There's really no special way to look for an employer who is willing to do an LMIA. You would simply search for a job like you normally would (i.e. if you didn't need an LMIA) and hope you find an employer willing to go through the LMIA process.

Thanks. Yes, I got couple of calls from employers but they back out for LMIA. How long LMIA takes in general, any idea?

Typically 2-4 months after the employer completes the 1 month of advertising and submits the application.
