Hey Guys,

Got a question - if you have got a PPR (not sent PP yet), can you remove the funds you have shown as POF immediately i.e. before you get the PR stamped from the VO? I will be moving out of my residence country right after I get the PR so I want to clear my overseas account (primary POF account) and transfer the funds to another account in my home country asap.

Thanks.

As per CIC, you should not.

However, you can do that certainly. Do remember, before landing in Canada during immigration, you should have that balance again in your bank account.

During immigration from my home country you mean? Or do you mean when I land Canada? Also, do I have to show that particular account or will any account work as long as I have the amount and statement?

You may be asked to show the funds when you land in Canada.

Thanks. Showing the funds won't be a problem as I'm just moving them to another account (different country) which is also mine. My main concern was actually whether I can move the funds before I get the PR (PPR already received).

It's your money; you can move it however you wish. Few people are actually asked to show proof of funds upon landing, however it is well within the officer's rights to ask for it. I suggest if you do move the funds, make sure you keep documentation showing the paper trail of when you withdrew it and when you deposited it into the new account.

Fair enough, will make sure of that. Thanks.

What about if I am CEC Inland applicant? I submitted my POF although I am CEC Inland applicant and I currently continue to working.

There will be much chance that I will be asked to show the POF upon landing, or only the employment letter would be sufficient?
