Sometimes after collecting my baggage, I was instructed to go to area to have the baggage inspected or being ask further questions by the customs officers. Depending on the queue, sometimes, this usually takes me another 1 hour before I can walk out to the arrivals.

its juzz tiredness.. one usually dont get jetlagged on west bound travel.. plus u r toooo xcited to land in canada that u forget all the tiredness
we usually get jetlag while comin back to india

I would not focus on the actual hours quoted.
The point is, you cannot guarantee a quick process, so it is much better to plan for a longer wait (and then be happier if it is faster than expected).

Hmm, true that. Although even sunny is correct that in all the excitement that wait and tiredness might all be forgiven and forgotten.
