Hi forum mates!

Is the Canadian Language Benchmark Assessment (CLBA) enough to submit as proof for english language for my citizenship application?

During our PR application my wife is the principal applicant and she is the only one who took the IELTS.

I took the CLBA on Sept 2013 (Reading 8/ Speaking 8 / Writing 7) and this is only english assessment that I have, is there any expiration for this?

Thanks in advance for all the reply/ies

No, CLB assessment is not acceptable, but the ESL classes taken to get achieve the level of CLB 4 is acceptable. Although, with a higher CLB score u wouldn't have been offered the free classes... So IELTS/ celpip or a higher Ed degree in English/ French

Thank you. Yes, I also checked the CLB website and they mentioned that it is not acceptable for citizenship application.

For now I think I should submit my TOR and diploma instead, in this regard I have the following queries:

1. My TOR and diploma are both written in English but it did not mentioned in both document that the medium of instruction is in English. Do I need to have a letter from my school to specify that English is the medium?

2. If I need a letter, to whom should I addressed the letter?

Thanks in advance. . .

Yes, a letter might be good. Needn't be addressed to anybody. Just stating that the medium of instruction. It would be also good to get an ICAS/ WES certification of the degree for Canadian equivalence. It's a straight forward thing to get and might be useful...

Thanks, I pulled out my IQAS certification and specifically mentioned there that the medium of instruction is in English, so I guess that would help too.
